ROUTES AND PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Pamplona, the first on the Camino

Located on the route to Compostela, Pamplona is the first major city on the Camino after Roncesvalles. This has conditioned the city’s history and character for more than a thousand years. Moreover, the city is a reference point on the French Way, as evidenced at Ultreia - the Pilgrim Welcome Center and Interpretation Center of the Way of Saint James, which combines a sensory experience around the Camino with practical tips to start -or continue- the route .

Setting off from Roncesvalles, pilgrims then arrive in Pamplona, a city with an outstanding historical, architectural and cultural heritage. Plus, the stretch between both localities offers a landscape of great beauty.
