SAN MARTÍN DE FRÓMISTA

If there ever was a perfect and classic example of Romanesque architecture, this is it: the church of San Martín de Frómista. Built in the second half of the 11th century, it emanates symmetry, harmony, proportion and balance throughout. Stylistically some elements remind of the cathedral of Santiago, San Isidoro de León and Santa María in Sangüesa.

COLLEGIATE CHURCH OF SANTA MARÍA LA BLANCA IN VILLALCÁZAR DE SIRGA

This fortified temple from the 13th century is one of the most notable medieval churches in Castile and León. The outstanding tombs of the Infante Don Felipe and his wife, Doña Leonor Ruiz de Castro, are considered one of the top works of Castilian Gothic sculpture. They are accompanied by a third sepulchre – a knight of the Order of Saint James.
