Creacity

Pamplona City Council is participating alongside the councils of Hondarribia and Bayonne in Creacity, a cross-border project focusing on cultural, heritage-based and food tourism. The initiative is co-financed (65%) by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg V-A Programme Spain-France-Andorra (POCTEFA 2014-2020).

The project showcases the fortified heritage of the three cities through initiatives of cultural tourism and artistic creation based on innovation, and addresses the challenge of converting the territory spanned by the three cities into a well-positioned destination to attract cultural tourism and business all year round.

Strands of work

Sustainable restoration

The restoration of spaces and places applying sustainability and accessibility criteria in order to enhance them in terms of heritage. Following restoration, the spaces will serve as sites of historical knowledge and discovery through guided tours, tourist routes and cultural and culinary activities.

Artistic creation

This action aims to incorporate an innovative cultural programme, both inclusive and accessible, related to the cities’ fortified heritage in which each partner will supply the joint offer with their best proposals, mixing tradition and avant-garde. Joint musical events and group, artist and school exchanges will be organised.

Tourism innovation

The partners will be encouraged to implement new tools to plan and analyse their tourism offers, promote the territory as a tourist destination, improve the accessibility of their tourism resources and organise entertainment programmes linked to the fortifications, e.g. guided tours of the three cities, the creation of a common tourism product, design and creation of tourism materials in different formats.

Promoting food

A creative culinary offer based on quality local products will be promoted, organising events such as fairs, demonstrations, competitions, etc., to accompany the cultural and entertainment programmes.
